1. Applicability
These Terms of Use apply to the use of the Carer Gateway website at https://carergateway.gov.au/ (the Carer Gateway website), the content of the Carer Gateway website, and any material accessed through the Carer Gateway website. In these Terms of Use, the terms “you” and “your” refer to the user or viewer of the Carer Gateway website or the user of information contained in, or accessed through, the Carer Gateway website (Information).
These Terms of Use do not apply to:
- the “Community Forum” located at https://forum.carergateway.gov.au/s/, which uses the tagline: Connect with other carers;
- “Self-Guided Coaching” located at https://coaching.carergateway.gov.au/;
- “Phone Counselling” which has its website portal located at https://counselling.carergateway.gov.au/s/, and is primarily a phone-based service; and
- the Carer Gateway Contact Centre (1800 422 737).
You should be aware that when navigating to via the Carer Gateway website to a subdomain of carergateway.gov.au you are accessing different services, and therefore different Terms of Use will apply for these services.

While DSS has exercised due care in ensuring the accuracy of the material contained on the Carer Gateway website, the Information is made available on the basis that DSS is not providing professional advice on a particular matter but is only providing general guidance. The Carer Gateway website is not a substitute for independent professional advice.
Information on the Carer Gateway website related to any eligibility or assessment of eligibility for carer support, services or carer related assistance and related financial or legal support is provided for your guidance only and should not be relied upon as a final determination or assessment of any eligibility for such services or support.
Assessment for eligibility for carer services, support or carer related assistance, remain subject to the provisions of the applicable legislation, as amended from time to time.
